Please come help us pay tribute to a man who dedicated his life to public service. First, as a police officer with the Chicago Police Department. Then later, as a Republican in the AZ House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007 and then in the AZ Senate from 2007 to 2009. In 2014, he left the Republican Party, citing its policies on education, water, and child welfare.

He ran for, and was elected to, represent Arizona's 1st congressional district in 2016. He was then reelected in 2018 and 2020 before he was defeated in 2022 following redistricting.
