John McCain is an interesting political figure. For awhile, he was a true maverick, and had an independent streak that could be appreciated by some Dems. However, that was decades ago. He is now a shadow of his former self. I think the ultimate unbelievable event in John’s life was selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate. A mistake from which he has never recovered!
A shout out to AZ Blue Meanie and Blog for Arizona for an interesting blog on McCain and Obamacare, aka Affordable Care Act. This is worthwhile reading, but basically documents the fact that, in spite of 6 years of Republican intransigence on updating and modifying a program which has brought millions under the healthcare umbrella, the ACA is working. My own family has been helped by provisions regarding pre-existing conditions, and coverage of dependent children up to age 26. During my career at Mayo Clinic, I can assure you that there were a substantial number of physicians who supported the ACA. Many folks I speak with have very little understanding of what Obamacare (or the ACA) really does. Here is a synopsis of the ACA from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
We can only hope that there is a growing distaste for McCain who has truly been in Washington way to long. Vote for Ann Kirkpatrick!
