How to Write a Letter to the Editor
Writing letters to editors is simple and fun using the internet to deliver your letter directly to the newspaper where you wish it published.
The steps are simple:
- write your letter,
- include your name, address and a daytime phone number, and
- send it off to one of the email addresses given below.

As a general rule, a letter to the editor should not be longer than 200 to 300 words. Some papers notably the Arizona Star accept longer Op-Ed commentary pieces and these should include a photograph of yourself plus a description of your credentials as an opinion writer.
