As of early February, SaddleBrooke falls within the new Legislative District 11 and the new Congressional District 1. There are efforts within the Arizona Legislature to bring changes to the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission maps submitted to the Department of Justice. The AZ Republicans don’t like the maps because they level the playing field more than the old maps by creating more “competitive” districts and less of a winning edge for many other districts. LD 11 is definitely not one of the more competitive, unfortunately. It is definitely more “red,” with historical voting data giving the Republicans a 17% edge. However, the good news, is that our new CD 1 has a Democrat edge. Below are maps of our LD11 and CD1.
