Susan and Harriet Role Play
Our Club meeting yesterday was inspiring and thought-provoking. Susan Shear and Harriet Hason talked about issue framing and role played to a packed house with standing room only, the rabid Conservative confronts the flaming Liberal, and how they talk passed each other. They presented the results of our voting on Democratic values and handed out wallet cards with those values printed in patriotic red, white, and blue. Then, the audience of SaddleBrooke residents and guests shared stories about their reactions in various situations when they were caught confronted with disrespectful conservatives who espoused a narrow perspective, assuming everyone around them had the same bias. The crowd laughed and celebrated, leaving the meeting full of pride in our values:

November 12, Saturday, Fashion Show/Fundraiser, Desert Diamond Center at Desert Diamond Casino
Green Valley Democratic Women in Action are having a fashion show, with clothes from upscale consignment shops, and silent auction with the theme, “Women Make A Difference.” Candidate and vendor tables will be available, and several important women from the Tucson area will be there including St Sen Paula Aboud; Tucson Women’s Commission Chair, Alison Hughes; Author, Sheila Tobias; Nettie Sellick, Manager of Arizona List;, and more. Andrei Cherny, Chair of the AZ Democratic Party, and other special guests will join our meeting. We’ll have special activities and an ice cream social/BBQ to conclude the meeting and the season, as we head into the summer.
