Bush Administration Threatened To Bomb Pakistan Back to the Stone Age

A story is circulating that Pakistan President Gen. Pervez Musharraf was told by a high admistration official shortly after 9/11 that unless Pakistan supported the U.S., “Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age.”

President Gen. Musharraf is apparently going to make this statement on a segment of 60 Minutes which is scheduled to air on CBS Tevision this coming Sunday. According to Musharraf, the threat was made by Richard Armitrage, then Deputy Secretary of State to Pakistan’s Chief Intelligence Director.

Observers watching the competing stories and interviews by W, Armitrage, Musharraf and others speculate that relations between the United States and Pakistan are deteriorating rapidly.

In a very sad but related story, more Americans have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afganistan conflicts than were lost on September 11th.  What is worse, with all of that, most Americans feel less safe than they were and W (worst ever) still has not been able to arrest Osama Bin Laden.  Click here to read the story from the Associate Press.
