SaddleBrooke Democratic Club Meeting

January  8, 2011

Call to Order: The meeting of the SaddleBrooke Democratic Club was called to order by Vice-Chair Larry Linderman at 2:10 pm.

Approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, the Treasurer’s Report, New and Old Business, committee reports, etc. were not included in this meeting due to the election.

Election of Officers: Willie Schlentz, Chair of the Nominating Committee, conducted election of officers.  Ballots were distributed to members.  Elected:

Chair, Holly Lyon

Vice Chair,  Joe Robison

Treasurer,  Sue Ayers

Secretaries,  Betty Jacob and Rich Hicks

Business:

1.  A moment of silence was held for the victims of the shootings earlier that day

2.  Holly Lyon discussed her vision for the Club.

3.  We need someone to design a logo for the Club.  Harriet Hasen and Rose Collins volunteered

4.  Committees and Committee Chairs were discussed.  It was proposed, seconded, and voted that an Education Committee be added.

a.  Standing Committees are:  Precinct, Finance, Program, Communications

b.  Additional Committees:   Networking and Telecommunications, Outreach and Community Services, Publicity, Campaign Coordination, Social, Membership, Education.

c.  Carolyn Badger has volunteered to chair the Membership Committee and Susan Shear has volunteered to chair the Social Committee.

5.  A break-out session of groups of 4/6 people followed to discuss topics and provide suggestions from the membership.

6.  The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 8, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, SaddleBrooke Activity Center.
